Optimised tooth by tooth: the Chorus Cassette by Campagnolo
Each tooth of the sprockets has been developed to achieve the optimum result in terms of synchronisation, shifting speed and quietness in operation. A double frame system for the six larger sprockets results in extremely high torsional stiffness, thanks to which the function remains optimal even when shifting under load. The surface treatment of the 11 steel sprockets guarantees a long service life and ensures consistent precision.
Application: Road, Cyclocross, Triathlon
Sprocket Material: steel (nickel-chromium plated
Campy Freehub: 11-speed Campagnolo
Spider: 2 (aluminium)
– Ultra-Shift™ tooth design: every tooth of the cassette has been made and positioned specifically for shifting the chain or max. power transfer
– reinforced frame for the second and third triplet: high sprocket cluster stiffness, precision and less demand on the chain
– Ultra-Shift™ synchronisation: due to the timing of the sprocket, maximum shifting performance without delay is produced for speed, precision and quietness even under load
Eleven sprockets that are still more efficient despite reduced sprocket thickness? Campagnolo has achieved this: the shaping of the teeth optimises the speed and smoothness of the chain passage during shifting. With this tooth shape, the stresses acting on the chain are reduced so that it rises faster onto the larger chainrings. The larger sprockets are grouped in threes and mounted on a newly developed aluminium carrier frame. This increases the stiffness by 180 % and the individual sprockets are 70 % more torsionally stiff.
